About the curtain raiserhttp://raisingthecurtain.netI have spent my life in offices. For now I am putting that behind me and preparing for the second act. Middle age didn't come with acceptable signposts so I am making my own through my writing. A journey shared is more fun than going it solo.

Thanks for asking! I think this is probably the first year ever I do not have any “dreams” – and this really feels good. Of course it depends on the definition of dreams – to me dreams are always dependent on many aspects that are not under my control, as fate, the economy, a lot of other people. Or more precisely it depends on my personal judgment of these aspects – as actually we cannot control a lot really.
One of my goals for (end of) this year was to report on the current state of my personal curtain raising process (that I had called a leap of faith previously) in my blog – but I did not want to make this a task on a check list. I told myself I must not write this post if it is not triggered by true contentment. And “suddenly” on Dec. 20 I have realized how far I have come and was able to report on the journey in a disengaged way.
What about your (curtain raising) story? Has the curtain been totally lifted – due to your new job – or is there more to come?
Love this response, thank you! Definitely more curtain raising to come, both at the personal development level and the academic level. I’m set for more study later this year. I’m interested to see how your personal curtain raising story develops, hope you do write about it. And yes, dreams are sometimes dependant on external factors we can’t control – a lot depends on how we respond to those factors. Happy new year!
Hi DAF, thanks for your thoughts and wishes and happy new year to you. All OK over here, I am two States away from the worst of the blazes and safe and sound. Just enjoying summer and getting out and about and taking a bit of a writing hiatus. Will be back at it and the commenting soon. Hope all is well with you.
